Some trees have taken more wind damage over the years than they can recover from, and removal is the honest answer once a tree crosses that line - wood, debris and cleanup handled in one visit.
Three signals point toward removal instead of a trim: more than half the crown already dead, a trunk that's hollow or split through, or root damage from nearby digging severe enough to threaten stability in the next big wind.
